As we head into the second week of the January, there's a lot of discussion centered around the resolutions made for the year. Many people are frustrated that they've already 'broken' their New Year's resolutions. This can be disheartening and, for many, this means going back to the habits they were trying so hard to break with their resolution. We want to share our top four tips for making those resolutions a reality...
1. Make a sustainable schedule: This is a schedule that you can realistically stick to for the most part and it also improves your life.
2. Write down your goals: According to Forbes.com, writing your goals down makes the odds of achieving them 33% greater. Telling a friend increases the success rate to 78%.
3. Tell a friend: Accountability is one of the greatest tools in achieving goals. And, it’s fun. Enlist a friend and get creative. This month, our office has a &ldqn ...

It’s that time of year...time to winterize your home! While some of the bigger tasks should be handled by a professional, you can do some of the other tasks on your own. Here are 7 tips for winterizing your home!
1. Clean your rain gutters & cover your swamp cooler
You MUST clean your rain gutters and cover your swamp cooler! Clearing out leaves, debris and other materials from your rain gutters and swamp cooler will help protect your house against water damage, which can save you hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars in future repairs. If you would like, you can also contact a professional gutter cleaning service.
You will also want to clean leaves and other debris from your A/C unit as well as cover it for the winter.
2. Replace your furnace filter and get an inspection
This is very important to keeping your house warm during the winter. Check the filter on a monthly basis and replace it as needed; ...

It's a beautiful day for a croissant, and especially for it being almost Thanksgiving! However, not warm enough for not wearing a coat. But how could I resist? I almost perfectly matched the exterior in my indigo dress and bright yellow sunglasses... It must be pastry serendipity.
It all started when I returned home from France in late spring. Paris introduced me to the 'pain au chocolate,' or'chocolate croissant.' My craving for this pastry was one I couldn't reign in. I tried making them at home and then starting visiting several French and European bakeries in the area, but they all left me missing France even more. Then one day, I was walking up Main Street after a lunch meeting in Salt Lake and spotted the beautiful blue facade and the word 'Boulangerie' on the sign. I stopped short, almost running into another passerby, because this word was something I remembered from my visit to France. Boulangerie is the French ...

SALT LAKE CITY — If you are in the market to sell or buy a house, now’s the time to do it.
According to the Utah Housing Corporation, 2013’s home sales numbers hit record highs, bringing the real estate market close to the levels seen in 2007 before the financial crisis.
“I’m used to selling a home in 90 days or less, not 3 weeks or less,” said Salt Lake Realtor Rachel Green.
Utah’s housing boom is in full swing. According to the Utah Housing Corporation, 2013 saw a 16 percent home sales increase from the year before.
Grant S. Whitaker, President and CEO of Utah Housing Corporation, described the market conditions.
“There are single family, there are condominiums, there are existing homes, and newly constructed homes,” he said. “The preponderance is for single family detached homes and the existing market as well.”
FOX 13 News spoke with Alyssa Firszt, who sold her home in November.
“We put it on the market / ...

Do you have a collection of art, décor, or other wall hangings hidden in a closet somewhere? You really want to hang them, but you haven’t found exactly the right spot? Or what if you hang them and you change your mind? Maybe you’re renting and you don’t want to pay to patch the holes from the nails when you leave? Or, maybe your home is too new and nice to put holes in the walls?
This was us in our first home. Three and a half years exactly and not a hole in any wall… nor a single piece of décor (unless you want to call two-tone paint décor). People would come over after we’d been living there for two years and ask if we just moved in. I must confess… empty walls painted with santo domingo crème in eggshell finish with alabaster trim was not exactly an inspiring interior décor option.
That’s until we discovered 3M Command Strips. Possibly the best inventio. ...
